Mind Business: After-hours Social at Black Business cool beans February 29th was a great send-off to the Black History Month celebration. During this month, some of the most passionate business development leaders in the Statesboro community came together to teach a growing number of local business owners how to maximize their potential.

In just a few weeks, a handful of local businesses and community members organized a mixer to highlight and connect Statesboro's growing Black-owned business scene. With dozens of enthusiastic and motivated participants listening to presentations by professional business and finance educators, we should expect local entrepreneurship to continue to thrive.
Flannery said Cool Beanz focuses on bringing community members together by creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere through a series of events that began with a Thursday night social.
Co-hosted event organizer Divine Consulting Firm LLC We helped bring in multiple speakers representing GSU's Business Innovation Group, Small Business Development Center, and Department of Continuing and Professional Education. They learned about free business and financial consulting resources, available office space, digital marketing bootcamps, and business development programs available here in the Statesboro community.
Visitors then had the opportunity to interact with each other and complete BINGO cards listing different categories and characteristics of the business owners in attendance. In between presentations, attendees snacked on the fruit and charcuterie provided. divine elegancewe had a chance to get to know each other over some homemade coffee.

According to Flannery, the owner of Cool Beans is david hoyle hopes to continue hosting monthly events that inspire connections and foster networking opportunities for business owners in the community. She says people can look forward to events in the coming months, including a women's business night during the new month of women's history, an Earth Day event in April, and a mental health awareness social next month.
Cool Beanz has always aimed to foster connections with the community, but Flannery says they want to do more now, and these events are simply a way to bring more people into the store. I emphasized that it is more than that.
Flannery said this community commitment is “bigger than buying a coffee,” and people should look forward to future networking opportunities at the Downtown Espresso Bar.
