Big Tech stocks again drove Wall Street to record levels on Friday, even as most stocks fell amid concerns about a downturn in a booming economy.
Big gains in Metaplatform and Amazon pushed the S&P 500 index up 1.1% to a new all-time high. It's been on a hot streak, rising in 13 of the past 14 weeks. Big tech stocks, Wall Street's most influential, also pushed the Nasdaq Composite up 1.7%.
However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which is less focused on tech stocks, rose only 0.3% (134 points). Additionally, the small-cap Russell 2000 index fell 0.6%.
Target stops selling products dedicated to civil rights icon after TikTok video shows error
Target has announced that it will no longer sell products featuring civil rights icons after several serious inaccuracies were flagged in the viral TikTok.
In a video posted earlier this week, Las Vegas high school teacher Tierra Espy said three civil rights icons Carter G. Woodson, Webb Dubois and Booker T. We introduced how students were misidentified in magnetic learning activities.
“These need to be removed from shelves immediately,” Espy, who uses the TikTok handle @issatate, said in a video on Tuesday. “I teach U.S. history, and as soon as I opened this, I noticed some inconsistencies.”
