Those who need it by April 1st. And tonight, a project in north-central Iowa needs your help. Dayton's Best Friend Project needs funding to survive. We provide temporary housing for pets while their owners recover. This includes if you are in a hospital recovering from substance abuse or in a domestic violence shelter. Due to lack of funding, this project is unable to accept new pets. Project directors say: All costs of caring for your pet come out of your own pocket. We don't have the funds at this time. We protect animals. We provide care and support. We pay for vaccinations and animal feed out of our own pockets. And we really can't continue doing that without funding. The Best Friend Project works to help Iowans reunite with their best friends after treatment without facing tragedy. If you would like to learn more, support or donate, please visit here
