tampa, florida – Pet food drives are heart-warming and tail-wagging in the Bay Area.
Linda Warnkan brings bags of dog and cat food to her workplace at Achieva Credit Union to give to animals in need.
“When you think about the people who can't afford to feed their animals, it's great to be able to do something to help and support them,” Warnkan said.

By participating in Achieva Credit Union's pet food initiative, employees and members come together to ensure proper nutrition is provided to our furry friends in need.
The pet food drive will run until March 13th.
“As the mother of two rescue dogs, I know how difficult it can sometimes be to be financially responsible for your pets,” Ms. Warnkan said. “So being able to bring my dog to work and working somewhere that actually has a pet charity is just a huge benefit.”
“We're trying to raise as much money as we can for Feeding Tampa Bay,” said Tasha Cohen Glynn, public affairs communications director for Achieva Credit Union.

The need is great.
“83% of parents will forego food to feed their dog,” Cohen-Glynn explained. “When we heard that and National Puppy Day was just around the corner, we thought it made sense for us to support local pets.”
The credit union is matching up to 500 pounds of donated dog food.
All food collected will be donated to Feeding Tampa Bay, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger.
“So many people care for pets, and we want to make sure that not only do they have healthy food on their plates, but they can also provide healthy food for their pets. That way they don't have to make the hard choices,” said Shannon Hannon Oliviero, Feeding Tampa Bay.

A community is coming together to show how small acts of kindness can impact our four-legged friends.
