It's officially spring in Texas, which means things are coming back to life, or in the case of animals, life. It also means that with Easter just around the corner, you might be thinking about getting a cute baby animal for your child, but is that really a great idea?
A living thing?
Easter is a time of eggs, chocolate, and new beginnings, and some people are thinking of new pets for their children. It's a consistent theme every Easter that rabbits, chicks, and ducks are the perfect holiday pets to have kids around because they can actually be raised by themselves. That's actually not true, and even though they are considered outdoor pets, they may actually have more responsibilities than dogs or cats. But why should parents keep these little creatures out of their hands, why couldn't they just release them into the wild?
Be free…not
Releasing your beloved rabbit or duck into the wild is actually a bad idea. Because these animals have been domesticated and almost certainly cannot survive. That means they become food for all sorts of predators or get injured or killed by something. Also, most ducks received and released as Easter gifts are more likely to drown if they try to enter a pond or playa lake. Leaving a chicken alone anywhere may seem like a blessing to the person who finds it, but in reality, they are usually fickle or have poor roosting habits, making them a huge nuisance. is.
A new house?
You can bring home an Easter pet, but honestly, it's easier not to give your kids animals this Easter holiday. That's because it's hard to find people who will properly care for these animals the way they should. Also, if you see a chick or rabbit that is hot pink, blue, green, or any other unnatural color, avoid it as it could get you into trouble. Have you ever received an Easter chick, duck or bunny as a gift? Tell us!
