The Newport Beach Animal Shelter will be hosting “Adopt a Shelter Pet Day” on Saturday, April 20th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. No reservations are required and the public is welcome to tour the new animal shelter and meet the staff and animals there. .
Short tours will be offered and those interested will be given the opportunity to adopt a pet. The shelter is located at 20282 Riverside Drive.
Goodwill Donation Center opens in Irvine
Goodwill Orange County has opened a new donation center for gently used items in the parking lot of Irvine United Congregational Church, 4915 Alton Pkwy. Business hours are Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The location is part of Goodwill OC's plan to double its footprint in the county over the next 10 years. Goodwill OC will open his 25th store in Fountain Valley on April 26th with an all-new boutique concept.
You can also drop off donations to benefit Goodwill Orange County on April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Kaiser Elementary School parking lot, 2130 Santa Ana Avenue in Costa Mesa.
Attendees of the April 20th drop-off event will receive a copy of the 2024 Costa Mesa Historic Properties calendar created by event organizer and local real estate agent Lenny M. Pina for the Costa Mesa Historical Society, while supplies last. will be given away for free. Oasis Sailing Club holds opening celebration
Oasis Sailing Club will hold an opening ceremony on April 19 to officially mark the beginning of the sailing season. The ceremony will be held at the Balboa Yacht Basin, located at 829 Harbor Island Drive, and will begin at 11 a.m., but registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will hear from invited dignitaries and You can tour two Catalina loops owned by Sailing Club, Oasis V and Oasis VI.
Charity luau to support Lynn House in Costa Mesa scheduled for April 27th
Lynn House, a recovery home for women in Costa Mesa that is run primarily by volunteers, will be hosting an event on April 27th from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach, 16782 Graham St.) will hold its annual fundraising gala. This year's theme is “Aloha Spirit.”
Since 2005, Lynn House has been providing drug and alcohol recovery services to women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, where they can find work while accessing support services to heal physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially. We have provided a safe and supportive environment.

Orange County Girl Scouts Host Trefoil Trot
Girl Scouts of Orange County will host the 2nd Annual Trefoil Trot 5K Walk on Sunday, April 14th at 7:30 a.m. at Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine. All participants will receive a Trefoil Trot medal, patch and T-shirt. For younger children, a shorter “Daisy Dash” will be held. As part of the event, the festival area will include an attraction built around a Girl Scout pillar. Participants can walk virtually by registering online and walking at a time that works best for them.
