The Department of History and Political Science at Arkansas Tech University will host a Women's History Month presentation entitled “Kat Robinson: Women Working in Food in Arkansas” on Tuesday, March 26th.
Mr. Robinson's lecture will begin at 6 p.m. in room 300B of the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center, 305 West Q Street on the ATU campus in Russellville.
Admission is free. Pies donated by Stobee's will be available while supplies last.
Robinson enrolled at Arkansas Tech University in 1991. She played her french horn in her ATU band and although she initially majored in music, she soon realized her love for storytelling and she majored in journalism. did.
After graduating from Arkansas Tech University in 1995, Robinson became a television producer at stations in Jonesboro (1995-1999) and Little Rock (1999-2007).
In 2007, she embarked on a new career that grew to include credits as a blogger, author, and filmmaker. She is the author of “101 Things to Eat in Arkansas Before You Die,” “102 Things to Eat in Arkansas Before You Die,” and “Food of Arkansas: A to Z of Eating in its Natural State.” He has written books such as “Arkansas Dairy Bars.'' : Decent meals and cool snacks. ”
Her website, Tie Dye Travels, features over 1,250 food-related articles written by her.
Pi is a frequent muse for Robinson. She wrote “Arkansas Pie: A Delicious Slice of Natural State” and “Another Slice of Arkansas Pie: A Guide to the Best Restaurants, Bakeries, Truck Stops, and Food Trucks Serving Delicious Snacks in Natural State” .
Her film “Make Room For Pie: A Delicious Slice of The Natural State” was nominated for an Emmy Award.
Robinson is a board member of the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame and has been featured in local and national publications such as Food Network, Forbes Travel Guide, and Serious Eats.
