Throughout their long lives, they pursued separate interests against medical expectations. The twins were born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, with separate brains but joined at the skull. Over the years, they appeared in documentaries, talk shows and an episode of the FX medical drama “Nip/Tuck.” George came out as transgender in 2007. Lori was a good bowler, and George was a country singer.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Federal authorities say a North Atlantic right whale has been found tangled in a rope off the coast of New England, in what has already been a devastating year for the extinct animals. There are fewer than 360 right whales and they are at risk of getting entangled in fishing gear and being hit by ships. The entangled whale was spotted Tuesday about 80 miles south of Block Island, Rhode Island, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said. NOAA said in a statement that the whale had ropes coming out of both sides of its mouth and was far from shore. This makes it difficult for rescuers to rescue them.
