She overtook Sharon Rokedi by eight seconds to win at Boylston Street. Switzerland's Marcel Hug spun too fast and crashed into a barrier, but he coasted back to his feet and won his seventh men's wheelchair race. Eden Rainbow Cooper won the women's wheelchair race. Nearly 30,000 runners departed Hopkinton for the 128th Boston Marathon. A quiet New England town celebrated his 100th anniversary as the course's starting line.

Endangered Bornean orangutan born in Busch Gardens, Florida
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – A baby Bornean orangutan, listed as an endangered species, has been welcomed into the world at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Florida. The baby girl was delivered by C-section on Saturday and weighed just over 3 pounds (1.3 kilograms), park officials said. Her mother Luna is recovering from her surgery and she plans to be reunited with her baby once her condition is stable. These orangutans are found only on the island of Borneo and are listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan, which focuses on managing endangered populations and educating visitors about animals.
Scottie Scheffler continues his momentum and wins another Masters Green Jacket
AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Scottie Scheffler has won his second Masters championship in three years. Again, it wasn't particularly close. Iowa star Caitlin Clark makes surprise appearance on 'Saturday Night Live'
NEW YORK (AP) – Caitlin Clark made a surprise appearance during Saturday Night Live's “Weekend Update” segment. The Iowa State star is in New York for the WNBA Draft on Monday night and is likely to be the Indiana Fever's top pick. The NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer came out after anchor Michael Che joked about retiring Clark's jersey at Iowa State. Choi read more jokes that Clark said he wrote to poke fun at comedians. Clark then shared a heartfelt message about the future of basketball, thanking all the great players who came before her.

PARIS (AP) — Fans will see purple at the Olympics when athletes attempt to set records at this summer's Paris Games. Breaking away from the traditional red brick clay color, the Olympic track will be purple for the first time. The vulcanized rubber tracks were manufactured at a factory in northern Italy and were being installed by workers at the Stade de France, the national stadium where track events are held. In 1956, Herrick photographed Rosa Parks as she was fingerprinted during a boycott after refusing to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. That same year, Herrick captured an image of King smiling while being kissed by Coretta Scott King on the courthouse steps. Herrick joined the Associated Press when he was 16 years old during World War II and retired in 1970 when he began his new career involving the developmentally disabled.

(AP) – A film weapons supervisor has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for shooting and killing Alec Baldwin's cinematographer on the set of the Western movie “The Last.” A New Mexico judge announced Monday the verdict against movie armor maker Hannah Gutierrez Reed. The judge said Halina Hutchins would have lived if it hadn't been for the armorer's recklessness. A tearful Gutierrez-Reed said her plea for a lighter sentence was unsuccessful. The armorer's two-week trial and conviction was a prelude to the case against Alec Baldwin, who has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges in the death of Halina Hutchins. He is scheduled to go on trial in July.
