OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A warm front is bringing spring-like weather to large swaths of the country during what is typically one of the coldest months of the year. The rare warming weather is forcing people to leave their homes to enjoy winter respite, but it's also increasing the risk of wildfires. On a day when average high temperatures are near freezing, temperatures in Omaha, Nebraska, topped 65 degrees on Sunday. Temperatures also reached the 60s in Denver, Chicago, and Des Moines, Iowa. Daniel Suarez beats Blaney and Busch in thrilling three-wide finish to win Cup Series at Atlanta
HAMPTON, Ga. (AP) – Daniel Suarez defeated Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch in a three-wide finish to win a crash-filled NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Busch, who won Saturday's truck race, moved into the middle between 2023 Cup Series champion Blaney and Suarez, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. Suarez earned his second career Cup win in the series in his Chevrolet at Trackhouse Racing. Blaney finished second in the 1000, just three seconds behind. Busch was third. At least 16 cars made a massive wreck on the second lap of the race, setting the pace for the procession of wrecks.
Dragons and dancers parade through Manhattan's Chinatown during Lunar New Year
NEW YORK (AP) – Dragons took center stage at the Lunar New Year parade in Manhattan's historic Chinatown. After all, it's the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac. On Sunday, hundreds of participants filled the cold, crisp air with the sound of drums, cymbals and confetti.
