No matter where you are in the world, home is always a place in your heart. This sentiment resonated with Annesha Adams so much that as soon as she graduated from college, she packed up her things and moved to a truly special island in the Caribbean. Today, the content creator explains how returning to Jamaica changed her life for the better.
“We immigrated to Canada as a family and have been going back and forth to Jamaica for over 26 years. After finishing my last semester of university in 2018, I left the cold country and have never looked back. I did,” she said. saturday living.
Adams is no stranger to travel. In fact, she has already visited the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and various parts of Canada and the United States.
“Learning and seeing the different lifestyles and cultures of different countries virtually has always been fascinating to me,” she added.
But all she had was an urge to travel to Jamaica. In her eyes, as the saying goes, there's no place like home, or as the Jamaicans say, “No, no, better than the garden.”
“My parents have always been Jamaican and have a deep love for this country, which has naturally led me to appreciate and love the culture. For me, Jamaica is about love and peace. I feel alive and connected spiritually, emotionally and spiritually. Jamaica is my therapy and contributes positively to my mental health,” she revealed.
She recalled spending her formative years on the island and confessed that she had some of the happiest memories of her life, including attending elementary school. “There's a river running through the backyard. There were endless fruit trees to climb and vegetables to harvest and eat, and there was a great sense of community among the neighborhood members where everyone was treated like family.”
With that foundation in place, Adams went on to build on even more amazing experiences during his summer vacation. Three months wasn't enough for her, but she cherished that period, enjoying the island sun and basking in the breeze and shade of trees.
Having traveled between Canada and Jamaica for 23 years, her heart was always wrapped up in those visits. So she thought she might as well make her move. She “realized that she could take control of her own life and do whatever she wanted. So I chose Jamaica, just as Jamaica chose me.”

“Part of my brand is helping others find things to do and places to stay in parishes across the island. So I've traveled a lot all over Jamaica. But nothing beats Manchester Manchester offers a wonderful climate balance of coolness and heat throughout the year. Manchester is what I like to call a 'suburban country' parish. ”
Suburbs in the sense of large houses and land. She said the people living in the parish are widely educated and well-travelled. However, its rural nature is closely related to agriculture. “Manchester has lots of greenery, crops and animals that I love. My family has pigs, cows, chickens, goats, hens and ducks on the property, as well as fruit trees and vegetable plants. I keep it. It has a great balance and I really like it.”
She explores a variety of interests, including dating, shopping, finding an apartment, driving around Jamaica, digging into nightlife, comparing rural and inner city areas, and provides how-to tips on activities, excursions, spectacular locations, and delicious dining options. Provide a guide. This move put her on the map as a content creator and she wouldn't have had it any other way.
“My audience is made up of people who are visiting the island for the first time and need vacation tips and travel guide videos. People who travel here on vacation. People who live in the diaspora and want to know about current events. Jamaicans I've always known or Jamaicans who just love the culture,” she said.
Adams has returned to Canada with one goal in mind. It's online shopping. She hopes Jamaica will catch up to high standards in the process soon.
Although she plans to cross South Korea, Tokyo, Italy and Greece off her bucket list, her heart will always return to her hometown.
“I love everything about Jamaica. The food is great. There's always something to do. I love the weather, I love dancehall and reggae music, I love patois and country life. Jamaican parties is of high quality. I love that there are so many of them. [people] believe in god Jamaicans are unapologetically themselves. They are confident in who they are and that is what sets Jamaica and Jamaicans apart around the world. ”
For those looking to settle in a new country, Adams advises following your heart. “Life is all about experiences, so live it. Be prepared before entering new territory and make your dreams come true.”
