Anand Mahindra appeared on X on Thursday and shared an innovative technology video featuring a robot cleaning bathrooms. This video garnered mixed reactions from his X users. While some approve of this technology, others argue that it will cause job losses in the future.
The Chairman of Mahindra Automobiles shared the video and wrote: Do you clean the bathroom all by yourself? wonderful! As car manufacturers, we are used to using a variety of robots in our factories. But I admit that this application is much more important. We need them…now.”
The video shows the robot entering the bathroom and using brushes and wipers to clean the toilet seat and floor. After cleaning the toilet, the robot opens the door and exits for the next cleaning.
The robot was developed by US-based company Somatic. They manufacture bathroom cleaning robots for commercial and personal spaces. This robot “Janitor” is assembled with unique parts and features that can help clean the bathroom without human intervention.

Mr. Anand, as you are our leader, what do you think about this? Do you want to?”
“In fact, the concept of Somatic’s robot janitor that autonomously cleans bathrooms is impressive and highlights the diverse applications of robotics. The potential of such technology extends beyond manufacturing. “It's also recognized for essential services. The demand for innovative solutions like this is clear,” a fourth commented.
