ALEXANDRIA, VA — Patch regularly features adoptable pets from the Alexandria Animal Welfare League and helps them find their forever homes.
This week, it's better to feature two pets than one. Trixie is a friendly dog who enjoys her leisure time. Our other featured pet, Beatrice, enjoys playing and being active.

Here is detailed information about each pet from the Alexandria Animal Welfare Federation:
Trixie
Looking for an adorable, snuggle house hippo? Yes, Trixie might steal your heart…along with your couch or blanket. This comfort queen loves nothing more than relaxing with people. Her adoptive father reports that she has a kind, loving, and sensitive personality. She doesn't play with toys, she just likes to snuggle with them. Trixie also likes belly rubs and cozy sweaters. Trixie is 6 years old, she weighs 39 pounds, and she is home trained. She knows some commands and she loves playing with the food puzzles on the snuffle mat. Trixie is working on her leash and walk manners and will probably be most excited to see her. If you think Trixie would be great, please email Adopts@AlexandriaAnimals.org or call her at 703.746.4774 for option 2 to set up a meeting.

Amazing beauty and an even better personality…Beatrice has it all! This easygoing and friendly girl loves playing with toys and solving food puzzles. Her favorite treat is the liver treat, and she'll surprise you with her repertoire of tricks to secure it (sit, paw, down, etc.). Beatrice is affectionate, so she will lean on you for a pet or attention. At 4 years old (weighing 58 lbs.), she is a great combination of being active and affectionate, with all the puppy-like shenanigans behind her. If you think her Beatrice's voice sounds like a bee's her knees, come see her!
