Vice President Kassim Shettima said on Tuesday that the federal government had discovered 32 routes used to smuggle food to neighboring countries, causing food price hikes and shortages.
Shettima made the comments at a public asset management conference in Abuja, adding that there are forces that are hell-bent on plunging the country into anarchy.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has also joined those who claim that the protests in various states across the country are being sponsored due to economic hardship. Akpabio made the comments during the Senate plenary session on Tuesday. Afrobeats superstar, Davido on Tuesday announced that he will be donating a total of 300 million naira to orphanages across Nigeria.
The award-winning singer announced the news in a short statement via social media, saying the donation made through the David Adeleke Foundation is part of his annual donations to the country.
