Just seven months after giving birth to daughter Matilda, Kaley Cuoco welcomed a new baby into the world. Her pet her brand, Oh Norman!. The Emmy-nominated actress, animal rights activist, and first-time mother has been planning to launch the brand for some time, naming it after her beloved dog Norman, who passed away in 2021. That made it even more special, he told CNN Underscore. “He just lives on and becomes the face of animal welfare and products that I believe in,” Cuoco says.
Launched last October, Oh Norman! currently offers a variety of dog products including dog bowls, toys, and apparel, with more on the way. In fact, the “Big Bang Girlfriend Theory” star revealed that she is developing supplements for senior dogs and scents for future products such as shampoo. They are also preparing treats for dogs. Cuoco said her dog was happy to help with the test.
Although she has rescued other dogs since Norman, she credits her love for him and dogs in general as the reason she started the brand. That's why a portion of every sale is donated to animal rescue. I feel like ” [when] “When you buy something from Oh Norman!, you're doing something good,” she says. “Not only are you getting a great product that's environmentally friendly, healthy, and naturally derived, you're also doing a good thing and contributing to animal welfare. Most people who own pets I think I want to be able to do that.”
These days, the “Based on a True Story” star focuses on rescuing senior dogs, but life without Opal, a puppy she initially believed was a senior dog after she misread his age online. He immediately pointed out that it was unthinkable. Here's Cuoco's advice for new dog owners, especially rescued dogs: She says it's normal to panic during her first week, but after a few days everything calms down quickly. “Especially with rescue dogs, especially older people, you just need to give them a little time,” she says.
Ahead, the actress shares eight of her must-have dog products on CNN Underscored. Of course, that includes some selections from her own pet brands.
Cuoco recently switched her dog to Vital Essentials, which provides high-quality entrees, snacks, and treats for dogs and cats. “It’s a really nice brand,” she says. “It's a little more expensive than other brands, but it's all natural. It's freeze-dried meat, so the dogs love it!” Cuoco also keeps ground meat in her fridge so she and her family can eat the food. Most of the time, dogs also bite when they eat.
Cuoco uses this pet carrier from Roverlund. Available in multiple patterns, this airline-compliant collapsible carrier features a removable and washable fleece-lined dog bed. It also has a pocket for your pup's essentials, soft sides, a built-in leash, a waterproof bottom, reflective details, and a shoulder strap that doubles as an extra leash.
If your goal is to avoid paw prints on your floors and furniture, dog wipes are the way to go. “I know it sounds biased, but our O.N. [Oh Norman!] Foot wipes are really great,” Cuoco says. Her dog is always in and out so she just grabs and goes. Sulfate-, alcohol- and paraben-free, animal-tested and fragrance-free foot wipes are made in the USA and are made from plants. -base.
Cuoco recently received a sweater from Little Beast, and both she and the dog love it. “Little Beast makes amazing dog sweaters. They're so chic, so funny, so cute, and they actually look great on my little dogs,” she says. Made from 100% cotton, this machine-washable sweater is available in a variety of sizes. This fashion-forward pet brand also offers cozy onesies, hoodies, collars, and other adorable products.
Cuoco's dog loves playing with tennis balls, but she also loves her brand of recycled stuffed animals called Destroy Me. As the name suggests, this squishy stuffed toy modeled after Norman is made from recycled plastic bottles and is designed for your dog to tear apart and replace as needed.
Cuoco says she rarely wears collars and leashes on her mostly older dogs (they prefer to hang out in the backyard rather than go for walks), but when she does, she uses leash boss collars and leashes. Made in the USA from high-quality nylon, this leash features a padded handle, swivel clip, D-ring, and reflective stitching for added comfort.
Cuoco liked this bear-shaped bed so much that she recently bought another one. “It's literally shaped like a teddy bear's arms and head, and the arms are wrapped around the dog. It's so cozy,” she said, adding that her bed is currently on the couch.
