In a story that shows the beauty of friendship in the bird world, a penguin takes it upon himself to help a friend suffering from an eye disease. This duo's story will be shared on social media and will have you smiling from ear to ear.
Birdworld, a zoo based in the UK, shared this story on Instagram about the bond of love between these birds. “Penguin has formed a bond with Squid, a 3-year-old who suffers from cataracts, a debilitating disease that clouds the lens of the eye. Squid are often disoriented during busy feeding times, and Penguin “We rely on his unwavering calm,” they wrote.
In the next few lines, the zoo adds, “The penguin served as a beacon for the squid, guiding it around the enclosure and acting as the squid's 'eyes.'” The hand-raised birds are now inseparable. ”

Polly Bramham from Birdworld told the BBC: “The two developed a friendship from an early age and she learned to follow him at feeding time.”
You may be wondering why one of the penguins is named Penguin. According to the paper, Penguin contracted the disease shortly after his birth and no one thought he would survive. Therefore, he was not given a name.
However, although he recovered, he had to struggle to “adapt”. That's when he befriended Squid and they have been helping each other ever since.
“Although they are not yet mature, penguins tend to mate for life. We don't know if they will pair up, but they are compatible as friends,” Bramham told the BBC.
