People on board a Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok to Phuket were shocked to discover a snake crawling in the cabin overhead. A video of the incident, which occurred on January 13th, has gone viral on the internet, surprising many.
This one-minute short clip shows a snake crawling through the cabin overhead. A flight attendant is seen trying to trap a snake in a bottle. But after several failed attempts, he brought a cloth bag and shoved the snake inside it. This video was shared on X by the handle @ArthurM40330824. (Also read: Who is Mitsuko Tottori? After the incident went viral, AirAsia Thailand's head of corporate safety, Hol Punpuan, told CNN that the discovery of the snake was a “very rare incident.” He added: “A passenger noticed a small snake in the overhead hold and alerted the cabin crew before landing in Phuket. AirAsia's crew are well trained to deal with such situations. “We have removed passengers from the area as a precautionary measure.”
The aircraft landed safely and was immediately inspected by relevant engineers and safety personnel on the ground.
Phumpuan also told CNN, “As per standard procedure for this type of incident, the aircraft was thoroughly cleaned and fumigated before returning to service. The safety and health of our guests and crew is always our concern. is our top priority, and at no time has the safety of our guests or crew been jeopardized.”
