A baffled mother sent her three-year-old daughter to kindergarten with a sweet note in her lunchbox after being told not to let her eat a “bad” cookie until she finished the “tasty” food.
Caroline said her toddler Evelyn came home from school and explained that her teacher had told her to eat all the “good food” before eating the “bad food.”
“My daughter couldn't eat a cookie before she had a sandwich and a cucumber,” her mother said.

“3 years old. When she was 3 years old, someone said something to her about food being good or bad. I'm so proud that she felt something was wrong. That's why she told me that.” I knew it wasn't enough.
“At this point, I got a little irritated by the teacher's outdated guidance…well, I thought, that's stupid. There's no such thing as good food or bad food. Food is just food.”
This American mother had the courage to leave a handwritten note in her young daughter's lunchbox.
“Evelyn has permission to eat lunch in any order she chooses. There's nothing 'good' or 'bad' about her food, it's just food.” Thank you,” the note said.
After learning “amazing” information from fellow mothers and experts in the field of childhood and nutrition, Caroline said she had “better responses, knowledge and practices” for her children.
“My kids and I talk about it all the time at home. If you only eat carrots and broccoli, your body doesn't get the protein it needs to grow strong muscles,” she explained.
“If you eat only chicken, your body won't have enough energy to run and play all day long. We need a little bit of everything to be able to learn, play, and grow all day long.
“So, to the accounts that have helped us write this note and ensure that we have the language, the knowledge, and the confidence to put it into practice at home, thank you, thank you, thank you.
“It has changed our family for the better.”
Her post has been viewed more than 55,000 times, with many praising the mother for standing up for her daughter.
“I like your attitude. All the food is delicious. You should teach moderation with all foods,” one person suggested.
Another said: “As a teacher, your answer is 100 percent correct. Narratives of “good” and “bad” foods can actually encourage the development of harmful eating habits. A long time ago, when I was in kindergarten, teachers told parents they would only send out healthy “good” foods, and limit “bad” foods and “snacks” to lunch once or twice a week. We sent a letter encouraging them to do so. My mother responded by deliberately sending him a lunch consisting of only “bad” food. ”
