ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Every week, Paws and Claws in Rochester features Midwest Access's Pet of the Week. This week we're introducing two 3-month-old female puppies, Persephone and Athena.
Here's what Paws and Claws said about Athena and Persephone:
It seems like the perfect time to take the puppies out for a quick outing. Today you can meet her two puppies, which we call Mythical Puppies. We are taking in Athena and Persephone, who are 3 months old and appear to be a terrier/pit mix. They came from a litter of 12, yes 12!! Their mother dog was adopted by the family from a friend who needed to leave the dogs with them. Shortly after arriving at their new home, the mother dog surprised them by giving birth to 12 puppies. These kind people kept this entire family safe and well cared for until the dog was separated from its mother and she was spayed. They asked Paws and Claws for help and the puppies arrived at our shelter on December 14th. These puppies have lovely brindle coats and gentle personalities. They have been neutered and, like their littermates, are ready to find homes. Their story once again emphasizes the importance of spaying and neutering. It also shows that there are still many kind people out there looking after these animals in their time of need. If you have the time and patience to raise and train them, a very nice puppy will come to you in “Paws and Claws'' and meet Athena, Persephone, and the rest of the mythical puppies.
