JACKSON, MI – Meatball and Lucy are just two of the many pets finding loving forever homes at the Cascade Humane Society.
Meatball is 95 pounds of love and drool, and this good 4-year-old boy is ready to find his forever home. He is a pro at “sit” and is very careful when it comes to snacks.
Meatballs are lovable giants, but they need a home that can accommodate their size and strength. He is looking for a patient and loving family to coach him and practice his loose lead walking skills with him.
Meatball is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
Sweet Lucy Gray Baird perfectly embodies the character from the latest Hunger Games movie. She has a blend of charm, resourcefulness, and independence, and like her human counterpart, she is warm and sociable, but also introspective.
Lucy enjoys affection from pets and humans, often licking to show that she likes them and other very tender displays of affection. She is confident and independent, as evidenced by the way she struts around the room. She is curious and seeks to explore her surroundings and loves looking out the window.
As Lucy becomes more and more comfortable, she becomes more vocal, rubbing against you and anything she can find. She has a wonderful face and beautiful eyes. Lucy is 4 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
If you think Meatball or Lucy might be your next perfect furry family member (or members), stop by. Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Drive, is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
Cascade Humane Society is participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation's “Empty the Shelter” event through January 27th.
This program, in which the Foundation sponsors reduced-cost adoptions of selected dogs and cats, aims to find loving forever homes for pets in need. During the event, dog adoption fees will be reduced by $50 and select cat adoption fees will be reduced by $20.
For more information, contact the Cascade Humane Society front desk at 517-787-7387.
All dogs and cats at Cascade Humane Society are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and parasite-protected before adoption. Pet owners also receive free health exams from 24 local veterinarians.
Dog owners who wish to adopt another dog must meet with their own dog and the dog they choose to adopt.
CHS has added services to its spay/neuter assistance program. This service is available at the time of a scheduled spay or neuter and includes vaccines, heartworm testing for dogs, FIV and FeLV testing for cats, and dental procedures.
CHS also has a pet food pantry to assist families facing financial hardship. CHS accepts donations of cat or dog food as long as it is in its original packaging. Donors can drop off food by the pole barn at the back of the facility. The pet food pantry is open the first Saturday of each month from noon to 2 p.m.
