2024 Oscar nominations
After a tumultuous film year marred by strikes and work stoppages, nominations poured in for Christopher Nolan's blockbuster biopic “Oppenheimer” at the Academy Awards on Tuesday, taking home the most nominations with 13.
Nolan's three-hour film was considered a front-runner for Best Picture and was nominated for Best Picture. Nolan's direction. Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt are nominated for acting. J. Robert Oppenheimer has received multiple honors for his comprehensive skill in drama. Although Nolan is considered the greatest writer of his era, he has never won an Academy Award and none of his films have won Best Picture. But this year could be his year.
Barbie, the year's biggest hit, finished with slightly fewer nominations than its Babenheimer-maniac partner. Greta Gerwig's feminist comedy grossed more than $1.4 billion in ticket sales and was nominated for eight awards, including Best Picture. Best Supporting Actor goes to Ryan Gosling. and two best song nominees, “What Was I Made For” and “I'm Just Ken.”

Charles Osgood is a five-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, anchor of CBS Sunday Morning for more than 20 years, host of the long-running radio program The Osgood Files, and the resident poet of CBS News. Ta. , he passed away. He was 91 years old.
CBS reported that Osgood died Tuesday at his home in Saddle River, New Jersey, and his family said the cause was dementia.
Osgood was an erudite and mild-mannered broadcaster who had a good taste in music and could write essays and light poetry, as well as report on tough news. He worked equally well on radio and television, and ended his work by telling his listeners, “See you on the radio.”
“It's no exaggeration to say there is no one quite like Charles Osgood,” Sunday Morning executive producer Rand Morrison said in a statement.

The Milwaukee Bucks fired Adrian Griffin as coach on Tuesday after just 43 games, after leading the league midway through his first season.
“This was a difficult decision to make during the season,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement announcing the move. “We are working immediately to hire our next head coach. We would like to thank Coach Griffin for his hard work and contributions to our team.”
Joe Planty, who was an assistant coach on Griffin's staff, will be the Bucs' interim head coach. Horst is scheduled to speak at a press conference Wednesday before the Bucks' home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
