Retail, advertising and lifestyle solutions company Stellar Lifestyle has launched its new retail innovation hub, Hive 2.0, at Esplanade Xchange.
Hive 2.0 is a showcase of how the company envisions the future of retail innovation through the lens of technology. The hub spans 3,200 square feet and features 10 unique retail concepts developed primarily by up-and-coming local startups.

Hive 2.0 will enable South Beach Development's office workers to take advantage of a robotic delivery service from Esplanade MRT station to their office buildings.
For example, employees can order items from the 7-Eleven at Esplanade MRT station through the QuikBot app. QuikBot's delivery robots autonomously transport purchases, consolidating orders with large robots and many smaller robots, and navigating elevators, gantries, and multiple buildings to deliver items directly to office floors.
These robots will exchange goods with each other to optimize logistics efficiency and will be the first robots to automatically navigate common corridors when traveling between MRT Esplanade and South Beach Tower.
Other unique highlights of Hive 2.0 include a room-sized robotic retail vending machine developed by Mr.R Robotics that allows merchants to deliver products to customers in a short period of time in select retail spaces; and pop-up sampling solutions.
In the coming months, commuters will also be able to order bubble tea on the train and pick it up from JAVIS, the robot bubble tea store, once they arrive at Hive 2.0.
“Hive by Stellar Lifestyle continues to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by introducing and validating innovations. This year, Hive 2.0 leverages artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and connected networks to We strengthen the operational resiliency of our partners,” said Tony Heng, President of Stellar Lifestyle.
“We were able to leverage our extensive rail network to design these innovations and create new in-store experiences that give consumers greater convenience and an enhanced retail experience.”
Other initiatives include 7-Eleven Shop and Go, the first self-checkout retail store where commuters can enter with the tap of a credit card.
that It leverages artificial intelligence (AI), smart cameras, deep learning, and multi-sensor fusion technology to provide shoppers with a frictionless retail experience with a seamless tap, shop, go process.
Hive 2.0 isn't the only thing improving commuter mobility. Earlier this month, it was revealed that seven stations along the same mass rapid transit (MRT) line will be revitalized. Mural as part of a partnership between the National Arts Council (NAC) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Envisioned as an art trail, the initiative will allow the public to view artworks on display during Singapore Art Week (SAW), which will be held from January 19 to 28, 2024, according to a statement from NAC. The aim is to make it available for viewing as soon as possible.
The themed train will feature an artwork titled “My Mother Says,” which is a tapestry of proverbs and words of wisdom. This is a collaborative effort involving 20 residents of Tampines Changkat, where participants share their stories and use creative typography to translate them into light installations that capture the words of their elders. I saved the wisdom that was given to me. This is the result of his three-week workshop with the SAW x PAssionArts project.
