There will be an agenda meeting from 5:30 p.m., where councilors will consider the topics to be discussed at the regular City Council meeting. That council meeting will be held immediately after the agenda meeting.
The public is always invited to City Council meetings. We are located at the Benton Municipal Complex, 114 S. East St., Benton, AR 72015.

• All animals in the care of Benton Animal Services will be microchipped in the City of Benton.
• Classify storage development for all zones as conditional use.
• The Benton Public Utilities Commission plans to use a portion of the franchise replacement transfer in its contract with Entergy.
• Condemning and demolishing structures at 422 W South St, 305 S Main St, 712 Edison Av and 1423 Cedar St. (image above)
• Requesting the Saline County Tax Collector to place a lien against 27237 Ranchwood Dr for costs incurred by the city.
• City relinquishes interest in K-9 Sam and hands him over to handler Miles French.
• Accept the 2022 City Legislative Audit Office audit and allocate funds.
• City applies for 75/25 grant for drainage improvements around Shady Trail.
• City applies for state grant to improve roads around Benton
• Amend the 2024 budget to give FD $110,000 to purchase 10 air packs using cash from grants received in 2023.
• Amends the 2024 parks budget to accept $95,038 from Farmers Bank & Trust through the purchase phase.
• Amend the 2024 street improvement budget to accept a $900,000 grant to build the Southwest Trail from Hazel Street to the Saline River.
• Mayor seeks grant from Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
• Adopt specific policies and procedures for BNPD and declare a state of emergency.
• Allow certain full-time employees and/or relatives to conduct business with the City;
• Rezoning River Street properties from R2 Single Family to HI Heavy Industrial. (Image below)
• Benton Utilities waives competitive bid to purchase wall-mounted M400B2 base station.
