NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Country music singer Chris Stapleton, Foo Fighters, Queen Latifah and New Orleans native Jon Batiste are among the headliners at this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. He is one of the star power members set to join the Rolling Stones. Organizers announced the full lineup on Thursday. The event will be held over two weekends from April 25th to May 5th. The Rolling Stones will headline the festival on Thursday, May 2, as part of the group's North American tour. Jazz Fest has added April 25th to the start date of this year's event, giving locals a traditional Locals Thursday as a result. Tickets for the day will be $50 for Louisiana residents.
Reba McIntyre, Post Malone and Andra Day sing before Super Bowl game
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Country music star Reba McEntire will take the stage at next month's Super Bowl to sing the national anthem and Post Malone will perform “America the Beautiful.” The performance will take place on February 11th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, followed by a championship matchup and halftime show featuring Usher. Andra Day will also perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” as part of her pregame performance, which will be aired on CBS. Actor Daniel Durant sings the national anthem in American Sign Language. Emmy Award winner Adam Blackstone will produce and arrange the national anthem and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

The former first lady said Thursday that she always felt at ease around her 78-year-old mother, Amalia Knahus, who was always there to listen to her. Nafs died on January 9 in Miami of an undisclosed illness. During the Trump years, the first lady's mother lived with her father in New York and occasionally appeared at the White House.
Prosecutors arrest flight attendant for allegedly trying to record teenage girl in airplane bathroom
BOSTON (AP) — Police have arrested an American Airlines flight attendant on suspicion of secretly attempting to film a 14-year-old female passenger while she was using the restroom on a plane she was working on last September. Police also allege that 37-year-old Estes Carter Thompson III recorded four other underage female passengers using the bathroom on the aircraft he previously worked on. He was arrested on Thursday. Thompson was charged with attempted sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child sexual abuse images depicting prepubescent minors. A phone number for Ms. Thompson could not be found. It is unclear whether he has a lawyer.
Nevada Supreme Court panel won't reconsider 'Dances with Wolves' actor Nathan Chasing Horse case
LAS VEGAS (AP) – A Nevada Supreme Court panel says former “Dances with Wolves” actor Nathan Chasing Horse led a cult, took underage wives and sexually abused Native American women and girls. He plans not to reconsider his request to dismiss the indictment accusing him of abuse. . Tuesday's state high court decision means Las Vegas prosecutors can proceed with 18 criminal cases. Chasing Horse, 47, has been in custody since his arrest in January 2023 near his home in North Las Vegas, where he reportedly lived with his five wives. He has pleaded not guilty to charges including sexual assault of a minor, kidnapping and child abuse. He also faces criminal charges in several other jurisdictions.
Warriors-Mavericks game postponed due to death of assistant coach Dejan Milojevic
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – The NBA announced Friday night's game between the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors has been postponed due to the death of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic. The schedule for the make-up match will be announced at a later date. Milojevic died Wednesday in Utah after suffering a heart attack. Milojevic was part of the staff that helped the Warriors win the 2022 NBA championship. He was 46 years old. The Warriors' game against the Utah Jazz scheduled for Wednesday was also postponed.
Falcons plan second interview with Belichick after talks with Eagles' Johnson
ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons are planning a second interview with Bill Belichick after discussing their head coaching vacancy with Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson. Belichick gave his first interview with the Falcons since leaving the New England Patriots. Belichick won a record six Super Bowls in 24 seasons in New England. He will be the first candidate to receive a second interview in Atlanta. The team did not disclose details of the second meeting with Belichick, 71. The Falcons are looking for a replacement for Arthur Smith, who was fired after three consecutive 7-10 seasons.
Arnold Schwarzenegger stops at customs over luxury watch after arriving in Germany
BERLIN (AP) — Arnold Schwarzenegger was held up at customs at Munich airport for several hours after entering Germany with a luxury watch that could be auctioned off at a charity event. A customs spokesperson said Thursday that the former movie star and California governor was stopped for a routine inspection after arriving on Wednesday. Schwarzenegger was able to leave after about two and a half hours. Goods worth 430 euros ($467) that remain in the European Union must be declared and some goods must pay customs duties. The German daily Bild reported that the Audemars watch made for him by Piguet was worth around 20,000 euros. The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative said the watch would likely be sold at auction and would be properly reported.

Sheryl Sandberg, who helped transform Facebook from a tech startup into a digital advertising empire, is stepping down from the board of Meta, Facebook's parent company. Sandberg left Google to join Facebook in 2008, four years before the company went public. As Meta's No. 2 executive under CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Sandberg received much of the blame for some of the company's biggest failures. She stepped down as Meta's chief operating officer in 2022, but she remained a member of the company's board of directors. She was the COO of Facebook, where she served for 14 and a half years, and then the COO of Meta, where she also served as a member of the board of directors for 12 years.
'Oppenheimer' and 'Poor Things' lead BAFTA race
LONDON (AP) — “Oppenheimer” leads the BAFTA race with 13 nominations, including best picture. “Poor Things” earned 11 nominations on the list released Thursday. “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “The Zone of Interest” have 9 each. Other strong contenders include “Anatomy of a Fall,” “The Holdovers” and “Maestro,” each with seven nominations. “All of Us Strangers'' has six nominations, and “Saltburn'' has five nominations. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on February 18th. The awards, officially known as the EE BAFTA Film Awards, will be closely watched for hints as to who will win at the Oscars on March 10th.
