Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels will soon learn the fate of the four-star prospect, who is a big read.
Edge rusher Austin Alexander is set to make a decision this weekend, ending his recruitment after receiving 29 offers. As the four-star Kentucky product makes his decision on Saturday, there is one team that will emerge as the leader.
And the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The Tar Heels have the only crystal ball prediction for Alexander, and that comes from national recruiting analyst Tom Roy. The same analyst selected the stock with a confidence rating of 6 on Tuesday.
In addition to Roy, On3's Steve Wiltfong also has the Tar Heels as a contender in this race.
Burlington (Ky.) Cooper four-star EDGE Austin Alexander has been a coveted player on UNC's list since receiving an offer in August. And as spring deepens, things seem to be trending toward the Tar Heels.
On Wednesday, On3's Steve Wiltfong named experts to the On3 Recruiting Predictor Machine (RPM), and Mack Brown & Co. ultimately acquired Anderson. To do that, he'll have to contend with Kentucky, Notre Dame and a handful of other programs looking to add him to their class.
Alexander is ranked No. 381 in the nation, No. 42 defensive lineman and No. 3 player in the state of Kentucky in 247Sports' recruiting rankings.
