ALPENA — District Health Department No. 4 plans to focus on cybersecurity programs for health workers by hiring information technology (IT) experts to its team.
Dennis Bryan, the health department's administrative health director, spoke about the matter Tuesday at the latest board meeting in the Atlanta office, explaining that he wants to focus on this when finances and human resources are stable. did.
“There are three pillars,” Bryan said after the meeting. “Human resources have good staffing, competitive wages, good authority, sound policy, and really work together for the public health mission. Brian said the health department is hiring for two new positions: IT supervisor and IT manager.
“Emails that come in can contain Trojan horse viruses that look very legitimate,” Brian said. “Commissioner (Brenda) Fournier has talked about doing month-to-month work and I would like to work on that as well. We have good candidates and others are interested as well. That means we'll likely be able to get a supervisor and then fill the manager position, but we're going to take it one step at a time and hopefully do it by the next board meeting.
