CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Small businesses have long been essential to the Texas economy, and simply helping them grow strengthens our communities. That's certainly the case in Corpus Christi, which is why the city is currently partnering with the state to give small businesses a big boost.
Each month, Gov. Greg Abbott selects a region within the state to host a small business summit in collaboration with the state's regional regions and the Texas Workforce Commission.
Corpus Christi will be approved on April 18th.
Joe Escobar, senior management analyst for the Corpus Christi Economic Development Authority, told 3NEWS that the number of local small businesses is increasing.
“This is a new trend, and what we're starting to see in Corpus Christi, is entrepreneurship, people wanting to start their own companies,” Escobar said.

“There will also be panel sessions and question-and-answer sessions that you can participate in,” Escobar said. “It’s an all-day event, so you can get a lot of fun for $20.”
