The next few days are likely to be warmer
Let's start the next few days. I'm about to take you on a walk through Rancho Cordoba. The skies are mostly clear as we wait for dawn to officially arrive in about 30 minutes from now. Again, this is the view we saw as we went to Rancho Cordova, checked in with people in their late 40s in the area, and had coffee in Sacramento. It's a comfortable 49 degrees. The same story happens in Stockton. We're a little cooler than that. Modesto, 47 degrees. And good morning, Lake Tahoe is currently checking in at 28 degrees. Temperatures in the Sierra Nevada are slightly cooler this morning by about 4 degrees compared to this time yesterday. And I've noticed that from here in Yuba City to Sacramento it's dropping about 2 to 4 degrees. Now you will wake up with that very downhill flow at your feet. A conditions are actually a little warmer for you. I wake up in Auburn and there's an east wind blowing 8 mph down the hills there. The wind is currently blowing from the west in Seven Over Fairfield, but the area around the valley is very flat and the wind is calm. Today's Valley Planner predicts temperatures will reach the low 60s by noon. A little warmer for the day ahead. Plan on highs reaching the low 70s. If 3 o'clock is the time to pick up the kids from school, it's probably pretty hot at that point. When you take them home, be sure to tell them to wear layers in the morning. Low 60s at lunchtime, low 60s in the foothills during the day, and a brisk morning in the Sierra Nevada. Over time, you won't need as many layers. Temperatures are expected to be in the 60s, with highs around Truckee and Lake Tahoe. Here's the pattern set for the next few days: Notice that this layer of warm air through the area of high pressure is clinging to the surroundings. Thursday from tomorrow. Thursday will be the peak of warmth. Then on Friday, we expect the ridge to ease up a bit, but into Saturday and Sunday we'll still have a dry air mass aloft with temperatures likely to remain in the low 80s.
