Which tech jobs will grow the fastest in 2024?
This is an important question for technology professionals currently job hunting.Fortunately, CompTIA's latest 2024 State of the Technology Workforce Report provides important insights into the growing number of technology-related jobs today. Here is the graph:
CompTIA predicts that technology industry employment will grow at approximately twice the rate of overall employment over the next decade. If you're concerned about the current wave of layoffs within the tech industry and what that means for future employment prospects, this one data point can help put some perspective into the situation. I'm looking forward to it. Additionally, that growth will include multiple sub-industries within technology, such as data science and cybersecurity.
““The interconnected nature of technology across software and applications, infrastructure and hardware, data, support operations, and cybersecurity means that job growth tends to occur simultaneously,” the report added. “On a volume basis, the large software and IT support categories numerically contribute the most to employer profits, while on a rate-of-change basis, the categories covering all data and cybersecurity are the fastest growing. ”

Important tools for aspiring data scientists to learn include:
- python. It is a programming language that has been around for over 30 years, but has recently proven to be ideal for data processing.
- Python library. These are a set of code written in Python to help you with your work. Such libraries include numpy, matplotlib, pandas, and seaborn. You can look up these library names and start practicing while learning Python.
- SQL (Structure Query Language, usually pronounced like “sequel”). It's a language that's been around for decades and is still used to store data in tables and connect data through relationships.
- tableau. This is a necessary tool for data scientists that helps analyze data and display it in graphs and charts. This skill is called data visualization. Data visualization involves plotting data on various types of graphs and representing data in a way that is easily understood by non-scientists.
- power BI. This is another data visualization tool created by Microsoft.
- Jupiter Note. This tool allows you to run Python code directly in your browser, run visualization tools, and see charts and graphs appear directly below each set of code.
