Two adorable pets, Apollo and Lucille, are looking forward to finding new homes at the Humane Society of Broward County.
Apollo, a lively and affectionate 3-year-old dog, is looking for a new best friend. Although he previously enjoyed living with humans, Apollo found himself in a shelter after his owner received an eviction notice and decided not to take him with him.
Despite the turmoil, Apollo is optimistic and ready to bring joy and laughter to his new home. Weighing in at a modest 51 pounds, this playful dog may be short in stature, but he's certainly big in personality.
Fun-loving and with a heart full of love, Apollo hopes to become the valued companion of someone who appreciates his energetic and goofy nature. Thanks to the generosity of dog lover Letty, Apollo's adoption fee was covered.
Meanwhile, Lucille, a charming bunny weighing just over 6 pounds, is also looking for a loving home. Her journey to the shelter began with her original owner abandoning her at her park.
Luckily, a kind person rescued her and brought her to safety. Now Lucille is eager to dive into the heart of her new family.
Lucille loves exploring and exercising, and is looking for a home where she can grow up healthy and fed with high quality rabbit food and plenty of vegetables. If you have a vegetable garden, she will be happy to join you in the adventure.
Potential foster parents can fill out a pre-adoption application on the Broward County Humane Society website (www.humanebroward.com) and apply to adopt Apollo (ID 679957), Lucille (ID 680037), or someone in need of a forever home. You can meet other pets.
The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 and is open seven days a week, with adoption kennels open at 11 a.m. daily. No reservations required. For inquiries, anyone interested should contact the shelter at 954-989-3977 ext. 6.
In addition, the shelter offers services such as microchipping and vaccinations for pets. The vaccine clinic operates six days a week and no reservations are required. Pet owners can find more information on the shelter's website.
Upon adoption, these pets will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, pre-vaccinated, receive 14 days of limited health care at VCA Veterinary Hospital, and a bag of Purina One pet food.
