ST. George — Stacks of lumber, tractors, workers walking around in hard hats – welcome to southern Utah. Growth in this area seems to be unstoppable, with new buildings and renovations visible everywhere you look.
In this episode of “What's Going There,” a show about development and ongoing business in southern Utah, Tom Callister of Lynx Commercial Real Estate takes a drive to the southwest edge of St. George to see the latest on Exit 2. did.

Exit 2 is where Interstate 15 meets Southern Parkway and is home to many events. Right next door to BigShots Golf is the Larry H. Miller Megaplex Family Entertainment Center, featuring bowling, an arcade, and a state-of-the-art movie theater.
“This is a big problem for southern Utah,” Callister said. “He has only one other project like this, and that's on Daybreak.”
Crews are busy clearing the land for additional locations for three local favorites: In-N-Out Burger, Del Taco and Smith's Food and Drugs. There's a lot more to come in this area, so stay tuned.
Nearby Desert Color continues to explode with growth. The resort lifestyle community will soon be home to a variety of restaurants, including Chipotle, Pizza Hut, Swig, and Jersey Mike's Subs.
Residents also have access to Fabulous Freddy's Car Wash and two credit union branches. Additionally, construction is underway on apartments and the Atala Hotel, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
“There's so much going on that I don't even know where to start,” Callister said. “Dessert colors are turning into their own little cities here.”
