Kenny Brooks continues his winning streak on the recruiting trail and is only a few weeks into his tenure as head coach.
Sunday afternoon, Clara Silva, a 6-foot-6 Class of 2024 freshman from Maynedo, Portugal, has announced her transfer from Virginia Tech to Kentucky women's basketball..Silva becomes the second four-star wing out of Virginia Tech to commit to the Wildcats. lexi bluewhich he also joined earlier this month.
As an international prospect, Silva is not ranked by any recruiting media. However, ESPN's Shane Laughlin wrote in November that Silva would be expected to finish in the top 10 nationally if he played in the United States.
Silva was courted by UW, Maryland, Tennessee and North Carolina before choosing Virginia Tech in September. She signed a national letter of intent with the Hokies in November.
Silva played seven games for her native Portugal at last summer's FIBA U18 Women's European Championship. She averaged 18.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks in 33.1 minutes, and shot 44.9 percent overall. Silva currently plays for Unicaja Baloncesto in Malaga, Spain.
