It's been more than 40 years since the district was rebranded. In a Facebook post, LCS said the new logo symbolizes “excellence, innovation and diversity.” LCS also said, “Each line represents the strength of her five school districts that have come together to form Leon County. At the center of our mission is each and every child.”
Hannah said: “As Superintendent of Schools and in collaboration with the dedicated Leon County Board of Education, I am extremely proud to oversee the unveiling of our new brand.” It represents not just transformation, but a visible commitment to excellence and our five strategic pillars. Originally, the conversation about marketing campaigns started several years ago. Superintendent Rocky Hanna said when voucher options started expanding in 2019, he was discussing plans to combat the district's competition from charter and private schools. However, the coronavirus pandemic hampered that process. “We have begun internal and external conversations with school districts about the challenges they face in expanding vouchers to charter and private schools,” Hanna said.
School board member Marcus Nicholas said the campaign was a “fantastic approach” and deputy chair Laurie Cox said how impressed she was with the campaign, saying: “I love this campaign. “The more I think about it, the more I understand its intentionality.” , it's exciting and it's time to rebrand what we're doing and we're doing some great things in Leon County Schools. ”
