Scandinavian home goods retailer Søstrene Grene has announced plans to open three new stores in Scotland.
It will open stores in Aberdeen's Bon Accord Shopping Center, Edinburgh's Waverley Market and Glasgow's Buchanan Street, joining its existing site at St Enoch Centre.
The Danish family-run brand has more than 285 stores in 16 countries and aims to reach 500 stores by 2027. We are currently expanding across the UK, with a further 50 stores due to open by that date.
The brand offers home decor, kitchenware, furniture, gifts, crafts, children's toys, and more at affordable prices.
UK joint venture partners Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who operate Søstrene Grene stores in Northern Ireland, the south of England and Scotland, are expected to announce an opening date shortly.
Jacob commented: “Following the success of our current store in Glasgow, we are excited to announce our expansion into Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Scotland with a second store in Glasgow.”
Mikel Gröne, co-owner and CEO of Söstrene Gräne, said:
“The new store leverages our 'Retail for the Senses' concept to offer our customers a 'Hygge' shopping experience with a great selection.”
The brand revolves around the characters Anna and Clara Grein. Two elderly sisters work hard to bring about small, bright changes in their daily lives. The sisters' inspiration came from the Grene family, who founded Søstrene Grene in 1973 and still own it today.
