Pratap Chandran's palatial residence in the heart of Haripad town has become quite a 'celebrity' for its mesmerizing splendor. The modern building and luxurious interior have become a hot topic. The family initially consulted an architect to renovate their old house. However, they soon realized that the structure had many defects and renovation was impossible. So it was decided to build a brand new house on the site of the old one.
Interestingly, this structure is built to suit the unique layout of the site. The property is located on a large bend in the road, offering perfect views of the area on three sides. Therefore, we adopted a structure that takes advantage of this feature.
Although modern houses are not suitable for the climate of Kerala, the necessary arrangements have been made here to cope with the harsh monsoons. For example, waterproof paints from high-quality brands are used to protect the walls from moisture and mold during heavy rains. A small protruding slab has also been added to prevent rainwater from hitting the wall directly.
Designed in a classic white and gray color theme, the elevation is highlighted with exterior tile and laterite texture work. Meanwhile, a canopied car porch does not obstruct the beautiful view of the house from the road. The parking lot is spacious and can accommodate about 3 cars.
The circular well on the site was reshaped into a square to complement the box-shaped elevation. Meanwhile, the front garden is alternately paved with natural stones and grass. Interestingly, the gardens here are planted with many hybrid fruit trees and seedlings.
The expansive 5,600-square-foot mansion features a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, courtyard, kitchen with adjacent work area, two bedrooms, and a first-floor bathroom. there is. Meanwhile, the upper floor has two more bedrooms, a bathroom, a home theater, and a balcony.
All the furniture that adorns the interior spaces is custom-made to support the overall theme of the home. Upholstery in fabric, leather, and jute add texture and elegance to these pieces of furniture.
False ceilings and warm lighting settings give the interior a cozy feel. Interestingly, materials such as plasterboard, plywood and teak wood are used for ceiling decoration. Teak, on the other hand, is used to accentuate certain areas in lounging spaces or formal living areas. A huge aquarium covers one wall of the living room, making it the most attractive feature of the interior. Get a glimpse of the amazing aquarium from anywhere in your home.
The home's double courtyard instantly attracts attention with its exquisite teak paneling, UPVC work and tempered glass. The bedrooms are very large and designed with a unique theme. Designer elements such as textured work, attractive wallpaper, wooden panels, laminates, veneers, metal profiles and profile lights make the bedroom look incredibly luxurious. Additionally, a photo wall, beautiful wall art, and houseplants add an inviting touch of greenery to the room.
The spacious open kitchen also features a quaint breakfast bar and minibar. Additionally, there are many cupboards for storage. On the other hand, the cabinets here are made of plywood with a laminate finish. The modern home theater features Dolby sound quality and seats up to 15 people.
Large glass windows throughout the home open onto the backyard patio. Grills and automatic shutters are also installed to enhance safety. A man-made pond filled with hundreds of colorful koi fish and elegant fountains make this a tranquil paradise. According to the family, many people visit the house every day and spend time admiring the wonderfully designed interiors and enjoying the luxurious atmosphere.
