Smyrna police are investigating after two French bulldogs were stolen from a woman's car while she was inside the store.
It happened in broad daylight Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the Cumberland Crossing Shopping Center on Cumberland Boulevard.

“He got in his car, backed up and parked right behind my car,” the dog's owner said. “He went outside and crouched down.”
The dog's owner parked just a few feet away from the beauty supply store's entrance, temporarily leaving the dog behind as she ran inside the store for several minutes.
When she returned less than 15 minutes later, they were gone.
She said police were able to identify the suspect seen in the video, but have not yet released the name of the suspect they are searching for.
This comes in response to the ever-increasing trend of stealing certain breeds of dogs.
“We've heard of criminal enterprises stealing dogs, and it's becoming a really big problem,” said Tom Sharpe of the American Kennel Club.
