Ohio is in the market for a running back in the 2025 recruiting class, and the Buckeyes have their eyes on several prospects to fill that spot.
After taking over as Oregon State RB coach Carlos Loughlin Exchange tony alford — left for rival Michigan — OSU is in a strong position with one of those players on the list.

“I'm big on tradition,” Alford told On3. “This is a college town, so I like to live in a college town and get that college feel. There's a lot of history at Ohio State and the people have left a lot of legacy there. If you go, I think you're on the verge of making history and your name will be etched in the college football history books.”
The four-star player was impressed by the success of James Laurinaitis, who played college football at Ohio State University. He's also intrigued by the coaching style of the Buckeyes' assistants.
“I like the way he speaks to people,” Alford said. “He's young enough to be able to relate to the young rookies, but also old enough to be able to relate to their parents…Coach Laurinaitis can do both. You can feel comfortable and feel the love.”
