Introducing this week’s Susquehanna SPCA Pet – his name is Rufus. Every Thursday morning on WZOZ, Alison Hungerford, a licensed veterinarian with the Susquehanna SPCA, tells us all about the special dogs and cats at the shelter looking for their forever homes.
This week we feature Rufus, a 4-year-old kitten who is ready to find a family. Rufus is the most handsome boy! He likes to be treated like a prince as the only pet in the house. That way he can draw all the attention to himself. Rufus is also willing to let people know when he wants attention and isn't afraid to be a little cheeky when he doesn't.
According to reports, adopters perceive dark pets to be less friendly than light-colored ones based on photos alone. This couldn't be further from the truth. I am a father of three cats, two of which are black. My Lucy is the most loving cat I've ever had. We can't be in the same room without him sitting on me, nuzzling me, hugging me, kissing me. Black cats shouldn't be stigmatized just because they look mean. In fact, it is considered to bring good luck in many cultures.
Anyone interested in adopting this wonderful cat should call the SQSPCA at 607-547-8111 to schedule a meeting. Also, check out our website and Pet Finder for more adoptable animals.
Be sure to check out our other SQSPCA specials, “Pet of the Week.”
