The Oklahoma Sooners are looking to build one of the best defensive line recruiting classes in modern times in the 2024 cycle. The University of Oklahoma has already signed Kamoli Moore and Alexander Shieldnight, and Trent Wilson is considered the frontrunner.
Now On3's Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have each released On3 predictions favoring the Sooners in recruiting Wilson. The Sooners currently have a sizable lead over Penn State and Maryland in the On3 recruiting prediction machine.
Wilson, a native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, has 17 offers from schools in the Big Ten and SEC.
The Sooners made an offer to Wilson at the end of January, but Todd Bates appears to have changed tack on short notice.
Here's what I had to say about Wilson in January. At the end of January, Wilson announced a top eight that included the Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions, Maryland Terrapins, Florida Gators, Texas A&M Aggies, Tennessee Volunteers, and Ohio State Buckeyes in addition to the Sooners. .
Wilson plays as a three-technique defensive tackle or between guard and tackle in a defensive alignment, playing with great quickness and power. He can use his excellent first step to exploit gaps between opposing offensive linemen to reach the quarterback or beat running backs in the backfield. – Williams, Sooners Wire
