NORTHPORT, N.Y. — Junebug, a 14-month-old female tuxedo, has been named Kitten of the Week by the Northport Cat Rescue Society.
Rescue volunteer Laura Wilde said Junebug was found lost or abandoned in the neighborhood, scared and sad, and hid in shrubbery until rescued.

“She was very cute in the foster care facility, but then she was adopted into our habitat at Petco Commack,” Wilde said. “There she was so scared and nervous that I started pulling her hair out. Her eyes were full of anxiety so she had to go back to her foster home.”
Wilde said it's not always easy to adopt a cat from a foster care facility, but the rescue group will work to ensure Junebug never experiences that kind of upset again.
Wilde said Junebugs love humans and will seek out pets as long as someone is willing to give them one.
“We don't know what happened to sweet Junebug, but she has to be the only pet in the house because she gets too nervous around other fur babies,” Wilde said. Junebug is spayed, up to all vaccinations, potty trained, microchipped, and FELV/FIV negative.
