The City of Perth has launched a major marketing campaign created through Wildlings to encourage people in the metropolitan area to choose Perth as their destination, whether it's to eat out, catch up with friends or see a show.
The campaign “Shine Bright in the City of Lights'' follows a group of dancers who are inspired to break free from rehearsals and explore the city. They explore Perth's iconic locations in a fun and unique way, showing the city in a new light.
Perth Mayor Basil Zempilas said the campaign would make people proud of Perth and fall in love with the City of Lights again.
“More than 60 years ago, American astronaut John Glenn named our great city the City of Light, and for the people of Perth it has always been that way, and this new campaign embodies all the reasons why. “We're doing it,” Zempilas said.
This is the first major brand campaign since the City of Light theme was first formed as part of the city's brand in 2022. City of Light was officially adopted after a consultation in which the theme of light resonated strongly with the community.
“This campaign celebrates how our glorious city shines, from the sunshine to the city lights, from the sparkling Durbar Elligan/Swan River to the twinkling light-filled skyline. And we truly live in the most beautiful place on earth,” Zempilas said.
The new campaign was shot in 10 locations across the city. Some of them are iconic and famous, while others are more surprising and off the beaten path. Locations include Elizabeth Quay, Wolf Lane, Perth City Library and His Majesty's Theatre.
The ad features a talented cast of six local dancers and skaters who capture the essence of Perth's diversity and youthful spirit.
Mr Zempilas said: “The city of Perth has just experienced its biggest summer season ever, with the Boorloo Heritage Festival starting next week, Lightscape closing for the winter at Kings Park and big things to come at Plateful Perth. This is a sign that something is about to happen.” August of the second year.
“There is no doubt that our city is shining brightly and this new campaign will remind people that it is the place to be. There is so much to do and see all year round. .”
Wildlings Director Nicole Lennox Gray said: Nicole praised the City of Perth's campaign strategy, highlighting its focus on presenting Perth as a laid-back, charming and cosmopolitan city.
“This campaign positions Perth as a destination offering a relaxed and cosmopolitan experience, highlighting the city's vibrant culture, entertainment options and picturesque surroundings to engage residents and visitors. It aims to appeal to both people.”
The campaign is currently available in theaters, television, digital platforms, outdoor billboards and streaming services.
