Tell us a little about your business: What does your business offer? How long has it been in business?

What made you want to get involved in this work? How did the business start?
We were inspired to take this job by a family friend who was also a local veterinarian. They saw potential in our land and suggested we build a dog kennel. Driven by our entrepreneurial spirit, 
My parents laid the foundation for Kingwood Kennels in 1979 so that all of our furry guests received the same love and care as our own pets. For Valentine's Day 2023, me, Jennifer, my brother Colmenares, my brother Roma, and my father Carl have banded together to carry on our family tradition, and while their owners are away, pets are treated as their own. I tried to make sure that they were treated with the same respect.
Please tell us some things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What sets you apart from your competitors? We take great pride in our prime location, located within 5 acres of the picturesque Kingwood community, providing a tranquil and spacious environment for our furry guests. What do you like most about running this business? My favorite part of running this business is definitely the animals. As children, they were our sanctuaries, and now they are at the heart of everything we do. We have a deep passion for education and advocate for a holistic lifestyle and sustainability. For me, it's about fostering deep connections between humans and animals. That's why I'm dedicated to changing the way people interact with their pets through the PAWS philosophy.everything is intuitive

How do you think your business will grow and improve in the next few years?
We have just undergone extensive renovations and renovated our facility, and we always strive for excellence. In the coming years, we are excited to expand our services and possibly introduce new enrichment activities and specialized programs to better meet the needs of our furry guests. We will also remain at the forefront of animal management technology and focus on fostering regional partnerships to support the rehoming crisis here in Texas. Our goal is to continually improve the quality of care we provide, while maintaining the warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets us apart.
