“Our rescue cat Bismarck lives in St. Anthony Park near the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus,” Mary wrote. “He diligently protects his professor's writing time and actively participates in Zoom meetings with his professor's research collaborators. He may soon be cited as a co-author of a research paper.”
Monday, March 4th
“We'd like to introduce you to our cat, Rocky. We hope he gets featured in The Daily Meow,” Jenny wrote. “We adopted Rocky over five years ago and he turned out to be the sweetest and cuddliest cat who loves attention and lets it be known with loud meows.
“He is best friends with our 10-year-old rescue dog, Penny, and they love to play fight and sometimes even eat from the same bowl.
“His favorite thing is to lie on or under a heated blanket and stay there all day.”As a kid, I considered myself a “dog” person, but having Rocky Since then, I am also team “cat''!

Wednesday, March 6th
“This is one of my three kittens, her name is Little DC,” Bill wrote. “I found her when she was an abandoned kitten.
“At first she was so scared that she wouldn't let me touch her. But she grew to trust me and now she's the most affectionate cat I've ever had.”
Little DC doesn't have much love for the other cats in the house, Mr. Liberty and Pete. But they make it work.
“The cats are tolerant of each other, but she prefers to keep her distance from them,” says Bill.
I asked him about the name of Little DC.
“I named it after my favorite MLS soccer team, DC United,” Bill says. “I'm a huge soccer fan, and my grandfather, Bobby Marshall, was the first multiracial player in the National Football League.
“I really enjoy what you're doing in the pet department,” Bill added. “It always brings a smile to my face, always best wishes.”

From time to time, readers all over the country find Morning Report's pet section.
One such reader is Bob from Florida.
“We corresponded a few months ago and asked about pet photos,” Bob wrote recently. “I thought I would provide you with a new image of one of our two cats. This is Jax.”
Like his younger brother Smokey, Jax has been living with the family as a guardian for four years.
“I think the boys are about nine and a half years old,” Bob says.
“Smoky likes to lounge on a light blanket, while Jax prefers the tunnel approach. We all live in St. Petersburg, Florida, so it won't snow today.”

“Hello,” Janet writes. “I saw you needed pictures of dogs. These two are my granddaughters. They are my daughter's dogs and we enjoy watching them from time to time. .
“This is Phoebe. She is a 5-year-old Agouti Siberian Husky.
“This is Skyler, a 10-year-old husky.
“Phoebe and Skylar apparently had fun on a beautiful boat last summer. They couldn't quite strike a pose? They missed the snow this winter, but they're looking forward to next winter.”

“I saw that they were looking for pictures of dogs, and he introduced me to one of my cats (Lord Stanley) a while ago, so I decided to give him a moment to let my dog, Simba (who doesn’t have a favorite in this house) shine. “I thought it was only natural that I should spend my time there,” Samantha wrote. “He originally came from a rescue facility in Illinois (hence the origin of his CAT name), but then adapted to Minnesota.
“The DNA test says he's a pit bull, but many people say he looks more like a seal. He's not the most photogenic dog, as you can see below. was rudely compared to Dobby the House Elf.

“This adorable girl is our 9-year-old granddog, Callie,” Robin of Woodbury wrote. “She planned to get up from a prone position on her 'own' sofa to see what was going on in her backyard. She loves her daily walks, but also cherishes her nap time. Her family has a cabin near the dock that features shallow water. As a black researcher, being able to get in the water (safely) whenever I want during a cabin weekend means life is so much better! ”

“This is a kit,” Pete wrote. “She has 7 pounds of fur and boundless energy. Kit is a Pomsky (Pomeranian Husky) rescued from a failed breeding operation in southern Minnesota. She has a sweet and cuddly personality. , and loves to fight. She can be shy around new friends, but once she gets to know you she becomes incredibly affectionate. At bedtime, she gently kisses everyone and takes them to bed. enter.”

“This is Yahoo, aka Piglet,” Mary wrote. “Ever since I saw Arnold Ziffel on the TV show Green Acres decades ago, I've always wanted to have a pet pig.
“Pige had a 'failure to thrive' problem and was the size of a football her first season. When fall arrived, she became addicted to acorns and weighed up to 80 pounds.
“She was a queen and very demanding. She loved to crawl into sleeping bags piled up in the bathroom and it was all hers.
“She would also greet me at the door when I got home from work. After a quick nuzzle, she would trot back to her sleeping bag bed and crawl in there…unless she had food.
“She was very food motivated and once went into the cupboard and ate two pounds of chocolate chips, which resulted in her going to the ER. Fortunately, There is a pet pig veterinarian in Minneapolis.
“She loved riding in the car and lying next to the fireplace and getting extremely hot. That's not good for a pig.
“Neighborhood children saved up scraps of fruit and vegetables for her. If she was active in her own pen, she was a staple in the local area.
“After three years, I arranged to put her in a pig sanctuary. She started chewing on furniture and became aggressive. Unfortunately, Piglet suffered from lingering health issues from an early age. , is no longer in this world.”
Rest in peace, Piglet. you were loved

“Chicory is checking in from Montana,” Kiki wrote. “He has lived in Big Sky Country for almost two years now.
“He's been eating carrots.'' Chicory has a troublesome little nephew, a Llewellyn setter named Hoopes, or Hoops for short. His owner, Kelly, feeds Hoops carrots to help with his teething. She gave Chicory some carrots, but Chicory didn't like it at first. But now he can taste the carrots. Kelly eats them “like a gentleman.” He says he will eat it. ”

“Chester's only joy is playing with his stuffed animals,” wrote Diane of Stillwater. “Here, Chester could not forget his striking resemblance to this panda. “This sweet boy, loved by all, is Finnegan, our 2+ year old Shih-Poo,” Katie wrote. “When I really want his attention, I call him Finnegan O'Leary. We rescued him early last year after he was found abandoned in a park in Arizona. The owner did not come forward and there was no collar or chip.
“As you can see from the photos, he stole our hearts, along with everyone he met. He walks many times a day in Arizona in the winter. He walks all summer long just outside Nisswa, Minnesota. Enjoy the lake location in. We should have named him Riley because he's “living the Riley life.” He has brought more than joy into our lives. ”
