5 things you need to know today
1. Severe weather will be a big topic today. More than 50 million people could feel the threat of severe storms, including in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The primary area of concern Monday stretches from northeastern Texas to western Indiana, with the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) indicating an increased risk of storms. Dallas, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Springfield, and St. Louis are among the cities in the Enhanced Hazard Area, where the primary threats are tornadoes (possibly EF2+) and large to very large hail (2 inches or more in diameter). and damage caused by gusts of wind.
2. A place in the final four of college basketball has been decided. It would be surprising if NC State had more players to upset Duke, but that's exactly what happened yesterday. They defeated Duke 76-64 to advance to the Final Four for the first time since 1983. The Wolfpack will play Purdue and the University of Alabama will play UCONN on Saturday.
3. The “T” at the end of AT&T may represent trouble. If you're an AT&T customer, you know they've been in a lot of trouble lately. There was a major network outage last month, and a data breach has now been confirmed. There are an estimated 7.6 million active accounts, and information from more than 65 million previous accounts has reportedly been leaked to the dark web.AT&T then began mass passcode resets
4. This isn't an April Fool's joke…Krispy Kreme is offering 12 Original Glazed Donuts for $4.01 when you buy 12 donuts. If you want to surprise your co-workers with donuts today… today is the day to do it.
5. Now get creative with your carry-on baggage. American Airlines relaxes pet policy. Until this week, if you brought your pet on board (for which you would have to pay a $150 fee), you could only bring one small item that would fit under the seat. Anything larger, such as a wheeled carry-on, had to be checked in and there was a $35 fee. Alternatively, you can put your pet in the cargo hold. American Airlines currently allows passengers to bring pets on board as well as regular carry-on bags or personal items, but not both.
