Afton, Oklahoma – A local nursing program has added another, more flexible path, allowing students to complete the program outside of a traditional classroom setting.
Northeast Technical College's Afton campus has received approval from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing for an individual option format for its practical nursing program.
This new approach extends the program by up to 15 months, ensuring students have enough time to complete their studies. Students receive her 1,463 hours of instruction through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory skills, simulation, and clinical rotations in a variety of clinical settings, fully preparing them for success in the nursing industry.

“The individualized format of the Afton campus represents Northeast Technical College's commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our students,” said Janet Trimble, director of practical nursing. “We understand that flexibility is key for many pursuing a career in nursing, and this format allows us to accommodate students' busy schedules while still providing a high-quality education. can.”
In this format, unlike a traditional school week, students attend an average of 24 hours per week in a classroom, simulation, or clinical setting.
Program class times are 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and clinic hours vary by clinical site.
Opportunities for certified associate nurses are expected to increase significantly, and Northeast Technical College's nursing program is dedicated to preparing students for success in this rewarding field.
Students may enroll in the program every 3-4 months, subject to availability. The deadline for programs starting in July is May 24th.
