Cat trees and cat towers are a great option to provide extra stimulation for your cat as they satisfy their natural instincts such as climbing, scratching, hiding and resting. But one pet owner recently learned the hard way that one cat tree may not be enough for a household with multiple pets.
The owner originally bought the tower for the cat, but a viral TikTok video posted by user @puggpickles on March 20 reveals that an unexpected squatter has taken over the cat. The caption reads, “When a pug thinks it's a cat.”
Pickles the pug immediately went looking for a new toy. Even with the cat watching her every move, Pickles had no plans to leave anytime soon. This pug climbed the cat tree slope and entered the covered hideout. She looked out with a puzzled expression, wondering where this device had been in her life.
Pickles continues exploring the cat tree and finds a new resting place. In her video, she is seen sitting on one of the porches, yawning, and claiming her cat tower as her own. How this dog and her short legs got there remains a mystery.
Little did Pickles know that the cat tree was not for him. And from the looks of it, the cat wasn't thrilled about sharing his new jungle gym. The cat kept looking back at her owners, wondering when they would intervene and drive Pickles out of her kingdom.
A general rule of thumb is one cat tree per feline. This will help avoid overcrowding and conflicts. Each cat has its own territory, places to sleep, hide and scratch.
One would have been enough for this owner, but he learned that his pug enjoyed using the tower, so he had to add a second one.
