NORTHPORT, N.Y. — Luna and Leo, 5-month-old close-knit siblings, have been named the Northport Cat Rescue Society's “Kitten of the Week.”
Luna and Leo were rescued from outside with their mother in the cold winter, said Laura Wild, a volunteer who took part in the rescue effort.

“They were scared, confused and timid, but over time they came to trust the people who helped them,” Wilde said. “Once they get to know each other, they are kind and affectionate. Luna is very playful, while Leo is shy.”
Leo often hides under blankets in the cat habitat at Petco Commack. When someone lifts the blanket, they stick their heads out and ask for their pet.
“He'll receive as much love as you want to give him,” Wilde said. “They're both cute as a button. Leo is an adorable tuxedo kitten and Luna is a beautiful black kitten. It's not easy for timid kittens to get used to life in their habitat, so we'll help them quickly. We hope to find a forever home for them. They'll definitely thrive now that they've finally shown some consistency and love.”
They are currently huddled together at Petco Commack, waiting for their forever home.
They are spayed or neutered, up to all vaccinations, potty trained, microchipped, and FELV/FIV negative.
