Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center announced the addition of a new executive director, Jennifer Barta, who began operations March 1.
Barta has more than 23 years of experience in animal welfare and education, including 14 years of leadership at the Oregon Humane Society in Portland, according to the release. Barta brings experience in many areas of animal welfare, including strategic planning, customer service, admissions, volunteer and education management, operations, development, and emergency response.
In addition to being certified in Volunteer Management and Emergency Animal Care, Barta is also a Certified Animal Welfare Manager. She previously served as Director of Learning and Development and Director of Volunteerism and Crisis Response at the Oregon Humane Society.
“We are thrilled to be able to add Jennifer's leadership, animal welfare experience and passion to our organization,” said Saving Grace Board President Levea Barnett. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Saving Grace and the Douglas County community's staff, volunteers, and pets,” said Burnett. The initiative is a perfect fit for Saving Her Grace Her Pet Adoption Center.”
