It's been almost eight years since Christian Pulisic made his first-team debut for the United States.
Arguably one of the biggest stars American soccer has ever boasted, Pulisic is currently the captain and one of the first names on the team sheet.
It was in March 2016 that coach Jurgen Klinsmann first included him in his World Cup qualifying squad. He was a teenager at the time and was in the spotlight during his breakthrough at Borussia Dortmund. He came on as a late substitute in the 4-0 win against Guatemala.
We revisited that eleven to see where each player stands today.
GK: Brad Guzan
At the time of the match, the goalkeeper was spending his final months at soon-to-be relegated Aston Villa.
In the end, he stayed in the Premier League for another year, joining newly promoted Middlesbrough that summer, but spent most of the season alone at the Riverside, benched by Victor Valdes.
Guzan returned to the United States in 2017 and joined Atlanta United, where he remains currently. The 39-year-old has played over 200 games in MLS and is currently in his eighth season in MLS.

RB: DeAndre Yedlin
Unpopular with Tottenham, Yedlin spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Sunderland before joining hated rivals Newcastle the following summer.
The full-back spent almost five years on Tyneside, helping the Reds return to the Premier League in their debut season. He spent a short time at Galatasaray before joining Inter Miami in 2022.
Yedlin continued to play alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets before leaving for FC Cincinnati earlier this month.
CB: Jeff Cameron
Another English football stalwart who returned to his home country to further his career, Cameron left Stoke in 2018 after six years and joined QPR on loan before making the move permanent.
In 2021, he signed with FC Cincinnati, where he stayed for two years before retiring in 2022.
CB: Steve Birnbaum
The DC United defender made his international debut in 2015, making 11 appearances for the first team.
Eight years later, he remained in D.C., where he grew as a leader. The 33-year-old currently captains a team that includes the likes of Mateusz Klich and Christian Benteke. However, he has not represented the United States since 2017.
LB: Edgar Castillo
Born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Castillo made three first-team appearances for Mexico before transferring to the United States in 2009. He won 16 caps for his country between 2009 and 2016.
Castillo was something of a journeyman during his club career, playing for 14 different clubs in Mexico and the United States, playing alongside Guzan in Atlanta and Cameron in Cincinnati before retiring in 2021.

CM: Kyle Beckerman
A legitimate stalwart of American soccer, Beckerman ended his career in 2020 after playing more than 500 games in MLS with the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake.
The midfielder won the MLS Cup in 2009, the Eastern Conference Playoffs in 2009, and the Western Conference Playoffs in 2013. He was a member of the USMNT team that won the Gold Cup in 2013 and appeared in the MLS All-Star Game six times.
Since 2021, he has been the head coach of the Utah Valley Wolverines.
CM: Michael Bradley
During the first half of Bradley's career, he represented Borussia Mönchengladbach, Aston Villa, Chievo and Roma. He settled down further after returning to his hometown in 2014, spending nine years with Toronto FC and appearing in over 900 games.
Only Landon Donovan and Cobi Jones have played more games for the United States than Bradley, who won 151 caps.
Bradley retired last year and joined his father Bob on the coaching staff at Stabek Football in Norway.
CM: Graham Zusi (Kristian Pulisic, '81)
Drafted as a top prospect by Sporting Kansas City in 2009 when they were known as the Wizards, Zusi remained loyal to them throughout his club career.
A true one-club man, he became the longest-serving player to have played for one club in 2023, but his option to renew his contract was declined. Although he has never officially announced his retirement, it is safe to assume that at the age of 37 his playing career is over.
Pulisic, a rookie substitute, has developed into a marquee player in American soccer and is currently playing the best soccer of his career with AC Milan.

FWR: Gyasi Zardes (Ethan Finlay, '71)
The former Los Angeles Galaxy forward was a constant presence for the USMNT during this time.
Zardes produced the best soccer of his career under coach Gregg Berhalter and won the MLS Comeback Player of the Year award in 2018. He continued to work with the same coach again at international level, but has not represented his country since 2022.
He joined Austin FC last year and is currently in his second season as a rookie in MLS.
Finley came off the bench for the USMNT for the third and final time, but continues to play in MLS with Austin FC.
ST: Clint Dempsey
The Texan, who played in 141 games and scored 57 goals for the USMNT, was entering the final chapter of his career in 2016. Later that year, he won the MLS Cup with the Seattle Sounders, the last of three trophies won in his club career.
Since retiring, Dempsey has moved into the media world, becoming a prominent analyst on CBS Sports coverage.
FWL: Bobby Wood (Jozy Altidore, '66)
During the 2015-16 season, Wood played for Union Berlin in Germany's second division. He continued to bounce between the Bundesliga and Bundesliga II with Hamburg and Hanover, before joining MLS club Real Salt Lake in 2021.
The 31-year-old forward was traded to the New England Revolution last year. He has not played an international match since 2018.
Altidore came on as a substitute and added some sparkle by scoring the fourth goal against Guatemala. The striker has scored 42 goals in 115 appearances for the national team, his last appearance being in 2021. He left the New England Revolution when his contract expired last year and is currently a free agent.
