Recently, one woman's dedication to her work caught the attention of online users. Chiltern Railway employee Rehana Ismat Khawaja's approach to the workplace has set a whole new standard. Her unique way of proving her dedication to her work by changing her name is garnering likes. According to reports, Khawaja, who has worked at London Marylebone Station for 20 years, changed her middle name from Ismat to Marylebone.
Reports said that during his 20-year career with Chiltern Railways, Mr Khawaja was frequently based in Marylebone. She held various positions including station master and train dispatcher. As the carrier's security and safety manager, she currently works across the network, but she frequently returns to Marylebone, the Borehamwood Times reported.
She told the Borehamwood Times: “The station itself is not big, but it has soul. The more I explored during my stay here, the more I fell in love with this world. It truly feels like a second home to me. We know that sometimes things can go wrong and there can be delays. But everyone there is smiling and working hard.”
She further added: They welcome you warmly. Not all stations in London are like that. I love the buildings, I love the people, I love the history of the station. When I was able to manage my station, I felt like I was flying. I still feel that way when I'm there. It's been such a big part of my life and now I'm officially going to carry it around with me, which is really exciting. ”
Meanwhile, Vanessa Russell, the railway's human resources director, was surprised that Khawaja had changed its name. Ms Russell told the Borehamwood Times: Compared to other stations in London, Marylebone Station is small, but it's impressive. This station has a rich history and it is touching that it has had such a tangible impact on Rehana's life. Her pride in her station is truly heartwarming. ”
